A sprocket is a type of gear, also known as a chainwheel.

It is a mechanical element that can transmit the rotation of the shaft to the chain and the tension of the chain to the shaft.

Depending on whether or not a hub is included, there are types such as Type A (flat type), Type B (single hub type), and Type C (double hub type).

It is available in high strength and corrosion resistant specifications, and can be used in a variety of situations.

Features

Structure

RS sprockets come in four types of structures specified by JIS.

Use depending on the structure It is used when attaching to a rotating body such as the center member of a torque limiter. It is the most versatile. Used when the key surface pressure is insufficient with the large driven sprocket or B type. It is used by hanging two single strand chains at the same time.

Shaft fastening method

There are three types of shaft hole specifications for mounting a sprocket to a mating shaft:

  • Additional machining of the shaft hole is required for use.

  • The details of shaft hole processing and bearing hole processing are coded, allowing for accurate ordering by model number.
  • Our lineup of shaft hole processing includes finished shaft hole products and additionally processed shaft hole products.
  • The shaft hole, keyway, and tapped holes are already processed, so it can be used immediately after delivery.
  • The bearing bore is a precisely finished housing hole, so you can insert your own bearing and use it immediately.

  • By tightening the bolt with a torque wrench, the frictional force of the tapered sleeve firmly fastens the sprocket to the shaft.
  • It can be installed without the need for troublesome key processing on the shaft side, and phase alignment is easy.
  • In addition, installation and removal can be easily done by simply attaching and removing the bolts.

Drive sprocket

Here we introduce sprockets for Drive chain.

We offer a wide range of standard series to choose from, Fit Bore with pre-machined shaft holes, keyways and tapped holes for immediate use by the customer, Fit Bore BR type with pre-machined holes for bearing installation, Lock Sprocket that allow shaft fastening without a key and easy phase alignment, sprockets specifically for BS standard chains, sprockets specifically for torque limiters, and chain tensioners and idlers.

RS roller chains are best suited to RS sprockets.

You can choose from a wide range of products to suit your needs.

  • *Steel type:
    General-purpose type. Hardened tooth tip specifications are also available for improved wear resistance.
  • * TOUGH TOOTH:
    It has improved strength and durability, primarily for Heavy duty drive chain.
  • *Stainless steel type:
    It is mainly used in combination with stainless steel chains.
    We also offer "wear-resistant specifications" that use stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance and have improved wear performance.
    Note: Please use surface treated sprockets for coated chains.
  • *Engineering plastic type:
    Made of nylon resin, it can be operated without lubrication and is suitable for light load applications.
  • *Surface treatment specifications (special product):
    Depending on the corrosion resistance required, you can choose from black oxide, electroless nickel-phosphorus plating, electro-galvanized trivalent chromate treatment.
  • * Indicator pins specifications:
    This sprocket comes with a replacement notification mark.
  • * Shaft mounted sprocket:
    The shaft is manufactured together with the sprocket and delivered together.
