The use of wear-resistant stainless steel chains minimizes misalignment during transport, reducing the need for adjustments.
Stainless steel Double pitch HS Series
overview
In food manufacturing processes, the conveying equipment was prone to wear and stretching of the conveying chains due to prolonged operation.
To prevent shifts in the stopping position due to chain wear and stretching, frequent tension adjustments were necessary, which presented a burden on maintenance work.
Therefore, we adopted the stainless steel Double pitch HS Series, which offers excellent wear resistance.
By suppressing the progression of chain elongation due to wear, misalignment of the stopping position is less likely to occur, leading to a reduction in the frequency of tension adjustments and the achievement of stable operation.
Problem
In ice cream bar manufacturing lines, high precision in the stopping position of conveying equipment is required.
However, during prolonged operation, chain wear and stretching occurred, sometimes making it impossible to maintain stopping position accuracy.
To correct this misalignment, frequent tension adjustments were necessary, which increased the burden of maintenance work.
Adopted products
Stainless steel Double pitch HS Series
This chain uses 13Cr stainless steel for the pins, bushings and rollers.
It has a longer life than SS Series and has Maximum allowable load 1.8 times that of SS Series.
However, corrosion resistance is slightly lower compared to SS Series.
The operating temperature range is -20°C to 150°C.
Benefits of adopting the product
By adopting a stainless Double pitch HS Series with excellent wear resistance, the progression of chain wear and elongation is suppressed, and the deviation of the stopping position is minimized.
This reduces the frequency of tension adjustments that were previously required, thus easing the burden of maintenance work.
