Replacing chains in cold storage warehouses and reducing maintenance man-hours
Lambda Chain cold resistant series
overview
In automated warehouses in the frozen food industry, the low temperature environment makes it difficult to oil chains. By adopting the "Lambda Chain cold resistant series," which can be used in temperatures down to -30°C Lube-free, maintenance man-hours have been reduced.
Problem
An automated warehouse that handles frozen foods operates a chain-based lifting and traversing system, but it was necessary to oil the chain to prevent wear.
Refueling work, which is carried out in the harsh environment of a refrigerated warehouse where temperatures can drop below -10°C, places a heavy burden on workers and is extremely difficult due to the freezing of the lubricating oil and its increased viscosity.
Adopted products
Lambda Chain cold resistant series
This chain is ideal for use in low-temperature environments (down to -30°C) where chain oiling is difficult.
It achieves the same transmission capacity as the standard Lambda Chain.
The lubricant used for the oil-impregnated bushings is NSF H1 certified.
Benefits of adopting the product
By introducing the "Lambda Chain cold resistant series," which uses a special lubricant in the oil-impregnated bushings, it is now possible to use the chain for extended periods without lubrication even in freezing environments, thus reducing maintenance time.
