Electric hydraulic cylinders reduce maintenance and energy consumption, and ensure stable operation even in the high-temperature environments of steelmaking equipment.
Power Cylinder U Series
overview
In the casting process at steel facilities, an electric cylinder called a "Power Cylinder" was adopted to open and close the lid of the device that pours molten metal into a mold.
The hydraulic cylinders that were previously used had issues such as oil leaks, the resulting fire risk, and high power consumption.
By introducing Power Cylinder, the risk of oil leaks was eliminated and maintenance work was significantly reduced. Furthermore, power consumption was reduced, resulting in energy savings.
Additionally, Power Cylinder has been changed to a more heat-resistant specification, reducing the risk of component deterioration, contributing to a longer lifespan and more stable operation of the equipment.
Problem
Conventional equipment uses hydraulic cylinders, but this posed issues such as the risk of fire due to oil leaks and environmental pollution.
Additionally, the pump needs to keep running even when the load is being maintained, resulting in high power consumption.
Furthermore, since the equipment is installed in a high-temperature environment, the drive unit needed to be heat-resistant to withstand such a high-temperature environment.
Adopted products
パワーシリンダ Uシリーズ
The U series Power Cylinder is compact and lightweight, with a rated thrust of over 6 tons.
Power Cylinder has succeeded in achieving smaller size, lighter weight and improved cost performance while maintaining the same capacity as the conventional T series.

Benefits of adopting the product
The introduction of Power Cylinder eliminates the risk of oil leaks and eliminates the need for maintenance work such as periodic oil changes and seal replacements.
The amount of maintenance work has been significantly reduced, leading to a lighter workload and improved operation rates.
Furthermore, it is possible to reduce power consumption compared to hydraulic systems, achieving energy savings.
In addition, the use of parts with excellent heat resistance reduces the risk of deterioration such as damage to the bellows and peeling paint, enabling longer equipment life and stable operation.
