overview
The drive components of continuous papermaking equipment are often located in intricately, making coupling maintenance extremely difficult.
By adopting ATRAFLEX couplings, which allow for easy insert replacement, we were able to reduce maintenance time in hard-to-reach locations.
Problem
Because continuous papermaking equipment uses multiple rolls to transport paper, it has many drive units, and due to its relationship with piping and surrounding equipment, these drive units are often located in complex, interconnected areas.
Therefore, a major challenge was the difficulty in maintaining the coupling of the roll drive shaft.

ATRAFLEX Coupling AFT Series
A wrap-around type coupling that uses a resin insert.
The insert can be easily replaced by splitting the notched insert.
The structure prevents metal from sliding against metal, so no lubrication is required and it can be used without replacing the hub.
It is compatible with large torque (up to 29380N・m) and shaft hole diameter (up to 184mm), making it ideal for use in medium to large equipment.
Benefits of adopting the product
ATRAFLEX inserts can be replaced by widening the notch, eliminating the need to remove the hub or move the drive and driven components. This allows for easy maintenance even in confined spaces, significantly reducing labor costs.
As a result, the time required for replacement work has also been reduced.
