Intermittent drive of filling lines is achieved with food-grade and waterproof worm gear reducers.
Croise Motor CSMA/CSMR/HCMA/HCMR series
overview
Intermittent filling lines in food processing plants require precise stopping positions, as well as consideration for food handling and cleaning environments.
By employing Croise Motor stable positioning is achieved through the characteristics of the worm gear.
By using H1 oil for food processing machinery and incorporating a waterproof design, we have achieved both safety in food processing lines and compatibility with cleaning environments.
This contributes to stabilizing quality in the filling process and ensuring stable operation of the equipment.
Problem
In intermittent filling lines at food processing plants, the stopping position of the conveyor is required during its feeding motion.
In particular, misalignment in the filling process affects yield and productivity, so stable positioning performance due to the characteristics of the worm gear was crucial.
Furthermore, because it is a line that handles food, the lubricants and parts used must also be of a specification suitable for food processing machinery, and safety must be a priority.
Furthermore, since the line cleaning process involves exposure to water, there is a concern that standard indoor motors may fail due to water ingress.
Therefore, the challenge was to select a motor that could ensure stopping position accuracy while simultaneously achieving the safety and waterproofing suitable for food processing lines.
Adopted products
Croise Motor CSMA/CSMR/HCMA/HCMR Series
A compact, lightweight, quietly operating right-angle shaft worm reducer with motor.
Croise Motor uses a worm gear, has right-angle shaft and high reduction ratio, and achieves space saving in the equipment layout.
The output shaft can be selected from hollow or solid types.
Compared to other gear mechanisms, it has less backlash and can be expected to have excellent stopping position accuracy.
Our lineup includes three-phase motor capacities from 0.1kW to 5.5kW, and reduction ratios from 1/10 to 1/300.

Benefits of adopting the product
By employing Croise Motor, variations in stopping position are suppressed due to the characteristics of the worm gear, and intermittent operation in the filling line is achieved when combined with an indexer.
Furthermore, the use of H1 oil and a waterproof design ensure both safety in food processing lines and compatibility with cleaning environments.
Furthermore, the use of a stainless steel output shaft and urethane resin coating enhances corrosion resistance and reduces the risk of foreign matter contamination.
