Chain replacement during parts installation process at repair shops improves safety
Plastic modular chain BTH16 type, WT6306-W type
overview
While a steel chain conveyor was previously used in the standard parts installation process at an automobile dealership's service center, a slat conveyor made of Plastic modular chain was adopted to improve safety and maintainability.
Problem
In the pre-delivery inspection workshops of car dealerships, steel chain conveyors were used in the standard parts installation process. However, the steel chains were heavy and required considerable labor for maintenance.
Furthermore, the work environment was noisy and involved working on slippery metal plates, which placed a heavy burden on the workers and posed safety risks.
Adopted products
Plastic modular chain BTH16 type
A high allowable tension (62kN/m) and highly rigid Plastic modular chain suitable for straight running applications.
- The special uneven surface on the top of the chain provides an anti-slip effect.
- Suitable for transporting heavy objects.
Plastic modular chain WT6306-W type
This is a heavy-duty, long-conveyor length chain with the highest allowable tension ever achieved in Plastic modular chain.
No special tools are required, and partial repairs can be done by the customer themselves, so please consider this option as well.
Benefits of adopting the product
By replacing the steel chain conveyor with a lightweight and easy-to-handle Plastic modular chain conveyor, we achieved weight reduction and reduced noise. Furthermore, the adoption of a sliding plug for the pin retention mechanism reduced the amount of work required for partial replacement.
Furthermore, the special uneven surface on the top of Plastic modular chain prevents workers from slipping, and the low rebound properties unique to plastic reduce the strain on workers' legs and backs, thus ensuring worker safety.
