Ultra PX Belt HY Type

To improve the accuracy of the vertical movement of the piercer, which previously used high-strength belts from another company, we adopted Ultra PX Belt HY Type (3mm/5mm pitch), which is both high-strength and highly rigid. This has contributed to improved accuracy in the vertical movement of the piercer and to space saving.
Problem
During the high-speed vertical movement of a piercer, a large impact load is generated at the moment it penetrates the cap or thin film of the sample container. Therefore, there is a tendency to design piercers to ensure positioning accuracy and withstand axial loads.
Previously, we were using high-strength belts from another company, but repeated operation caused a decrease in positional accuracy. We were looking for a belt that was both high-strength and offered good positioning accuracy.

Ultra PX Belt HY Type
These are ultra-high-strength and ultra-rigid belts available in pitch sizes of 3mm, 5mm, 8mm, and 14mm.
By employing a hybrid core made of specially treated carbon fiber and high-strength glass fiber, it is possible to make the device more compact and reduce its mass.
This design reduces load elongation, enabling high-speed, high-load power transmission.
Significant reductions in decay time and maximum amplitude improve stopping accuracy, enabling stable operation and faster equipment speeds.
Benefits of adopting the product
By adopting HY Type (3mm and 5mm pitch) for the piercer's vertical movement, backlash is reduced due to superior engagement with a short pitch, improving positional accuracy during repeated operations. Furthermore, the high-strength, high-rigidity structure improves vulnerability to impact loads. This achieves improved positional accuracy while maintaining a space-saving and lightweight design without requiring a larger drive unit, contributing to improved stability of puncture operations and enhanced reliability of the device.
