The drive chains for flow conveyors operating outdoors in coastal areas were prone to premature rusting and corrosion due to salt damage, requiring frequent replacement. Therefore, we adopted NEP Series, which offers the strength of RS roller chain and resistance to saltwater, reducing the labor required for chain replacement.
Problem
Flow conveyors installed outdoors in coastal areas are constantly exposed to sea breezes, making premature corrosion of the drive chains that make up the drive mechanism unavoidable.
Although steel was used for the drive chain, rust and corrosion occurred early in operation, leading to a decrease in strength and a risk of chain breakage.
If a chain breaks during operation, the conveyor stops, halting the entire production line and causing unexpected downtime. This necessitates prompt replacement, but the cost of replacement and the resulting production stoppage were significant burdens.

By combining a special coating and a special resin coating, Drive chain maintains the strength of RS roller chain while offering superior corrosion resistance to various environments, including saltwater, weather, and chemicals.
Furthermore, the rust-preventive surface treatment does not use harmful hexavalent chromium, nor does it use any other harmful substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, or arsenic, making it a corrosion-resistant product that complies with the RoHS Directive *.
It can be used in environments where it may be exposed to seawater, as well as outdoors.
