The space inside the injection molding machine is limited, and the nozzle touch mechanism, which presses the nozzle tip against the mold for a tight seal, applies a large reaction force load. Therefore, it was difficult to meet the dimensional and strength requirements of standard specifications.
Therefore, as a customization tailored to the specific application, the output shaft length was adjusted to achieve an optimal layout within the limited space. In addition, a short-time rating specification was adopted to match the operating conditions.
Furthermore, the use of hardened keys provides sufficient strength to withstand reaction loads.
These measures enabled us to create a power source that is suitable for the operating conditions of the injection molding machine.
Problem
The interior of an injection molding machine has limited space, and the equipment had to be fitted to the mounting dimensions specified by the machine itself. In addition, the molding machine uses a "nozzle touch mechanism" that presses the nozzle tip against the mold for a tight seal. Since nozzle touch mainly involves short, repetitive movements, and the reaction force during pressing is concentrated on the shaft and brake hub connection points, there were concerns that the standard specifications would not be suitable in terms of dimensions, operating conditions, and load.
Therefore, customization to match the equipment specifications and operating conditions was necessary.
