An electric cylinder was used to open and close the hopper of a waste treatment facility.
With the hydraulic cylinders that were previously used, there was a risk that oil leakage would reduce the holding force, causing the hopper to open naturally and the contents to leak.
Additionally, wear and adhesion of the sliding parts, End fitting and pins caused instability in the opening and closing operation.
Therefore, an electric cylinder with Thrust detection limit switch is used, which stops the cylinder when pressed down to reliably seal the hopper.
In addition to preventing leakage of contents, it also reduces the risk of oil leaks and fires, improving safety.
Furthermore, the installation of a sliding bearing prevents friction and sticking, ensuring stable opening and closing operations.
Problem
With hydraulic cylinders, when an oil leak occurs, the holding force decreases, causing the hopper to open naturally, resulting in the contents leaking out.
