Stainless Drive chain NS Series were adopted for the door opening and closing mechanism of the heat treatment furnace.
By adopting NS Series, which offers heat resistance equivalent to SS Series of stainless steel chains and superior corrosion resistance, we were able to ensure corrosion resistance even in high-temperature and highly corrosive operating environments, contributing to a longer chain lifespan.
Problem
The chains used in the door opening and closing mechanism of heat treatment furnaces are exposed to high-temperature gases inside the furnace every time the door is opened, making them prone to corrosion. Therefore, there was a need for chains that could withstand high temperatures and a highly corrosive environment.
Adopted products
Stainless Drive chain NS Series
This is a roller chain made of 18-12 stainless steel.
This chain is suitable for applications requiring higher corrosion resistance than stainless steel chains SS Series and can be used in more demanding environments.
Furthermore, it can be used in a very wide temperature range, from -20°C to 400°C.
- If the coupling link is secured with spring clip, spring clip is made of 17-7 stainless steel; if it is secured with a cotter pin, the cotter pin is made of 18-8 stainless steel (only for RS80-NS). Except for spring clip and cotter pin, there is no magnetism.
Benefits of adopting the product
The opening of the heat treatment furnace was exposed to a harsh environment of high-temperature corrosive gases. However, by adopting NS Series, which has heat resistance equivalent to SS Series of stainless steel chains and even higher corrosion resistance, chain corrosion was suppressed, contributing to a longer lifespan.
