Belt-driven platform door opening and closing system for use in semi-outdoor environments
Ultra PX Belt HA specification (oil/water resistant)
overview
The opening and closing mechanisms for platform screen doors installed on train station platforms require reliable and stable operation while ensuring safety.
Conventional ball screw systems have drawbacks in terms of equipment weight, workability, noise, and cost, as well as the need to accommodate limited installation space and semi-outdoor environments.
By adopting a belt-driven system, the device has been made lighter and quieter, significantly reducing the burden of installation and replacement work.
Thanks to its oil- and water-resistant construction, the platform doors can be opened and closed reliably even in environments susceptible to rainwater and other elements.
Problem
The opening and closing mechanisms for platform screen doors installed on train station platforms require reliable and stable operation while ensuring safety.
Traditionally, a drive system using ball screws was employed, but this presented challenges such as the equipment being heavy, making installation and replacement difficult, as well as loud operating noise and high costs.
Furthermore, in addition to requiring sufficient strength within the limited installation space, the equipment also needed to be resistant to rainwater and oil, as some stations are semi-outdoor environments.
Adopted products
Ultra PX Belt HA specification (oil/water resistant)
This belt offers the same high strength and precision as the Ultra PX-HC, plus oil and water resistance.
By using oil-resistant rubber, the belt's physical properties remain virtually unchanged even in environments exposed to oil and water.
It has the same transmission capacity as Ultra PX Belt HC Type, and its operating elongation is extremely low.
*This is a made-to-order product (orders can be placed for a single unit, except for the 14mm pitch).
DCBL Hypoid Motor
This is DCBL gear motor with a hypoid gearhead that prioritizes compactness through right-angle shaft.
It is equipped with communication functions and can be controlled in various ways.
Although it's called DCBL Hypoid Motor, it's actually a motor that runs on AC power.
*It is called DCBL Hypoid Motor because of its operating principle.
*The motor and driver must be used together.
Benefits of adopting the product
By adopting a belt-driven system, the overall weight of the device has been reduced compared to the conventional ball screw system, significantly improving the efficiency of installation and replacement work.
The noise level during operation has also been reduced, contributing to improved quietness within the station premises.
It ensures high strength even in limited installation spaces, and its oil and water resistance maintains stable opening and closing operation even in semi-outdoor environments.
Furthermore, when combined with DCBL Hypoid Motor, stable operation is possible even during opening and closing operations with fluctuating loads.
