A wheelchair lift is a type of welfare vehicle that allows wheelchair users to board the vehicle while remaining in their wheelchairs. While multiple cables are used in the lifting mechanism, there was a risk of the cables sagging under their own weight, getting caught in the moving parts, or breaking due to friction, leading to sudden stops. Therefore, the TKP type was adopted to protect the cables and stabilize the track, preventing sudden stops.
Problem
The wheelchair lifts in welfare vehicles had multiple cables in the lifting and lowering mechanism. However, these cables would sag under their own weight and get caught in the moving parts. Furthermore, the movement of the cables in the limited space during lifting and lowering operations could cause twisting, wear, breakage, and other damage, leading to a risk of sudden failure.
In welfare vehicles, where safety and reliability are paramount, we considered sudden stops to be directly related to user safety and were exploring risk mitigation measures.
