200 Series Handle with care

  • 1. This type does not have inner race. The Cam Clutch is fitted directly onto the shaft, so the part of the shaft where it engages with the Cam Clutch must be hardened (surface hardness: 56-60HRC, hardening depth: 1.5mm or more) and ground to the C dimension shown on the product page (here). The taper should be kept to within 0.01mm per 50mm of length, and the finished surface roughness should be 1.5S or less.
  • 2. When installing, install bearings on both sides of the Cam Clutch to center the shaft and outer race and to support the radial load applied to outer race or shaft. (See installation example.)
Use two even if you can only fit a bearing on one side.
  • 3. When fitting the clutch onto the shaft, gently push it in while turning the shaft in the direction of the arrow on the Cam Clutch base. Never hit the Cam Clutch base or shaft with a hammer or anything similar.
  • 4. The outer diameter of outer race is finished to the same nominal dimension as bearings of the same outer diameter. We recommend a mounting hole tolerance of H6 or H7.
  • 5. Use JIS B1301-1959 (old JIS) parallel key type 2. Please note that some model numbers do not conform to the relationship between shaft diameter and key specified in JIS.
  • 6. When installing a set bolt for pressing the key on the housing that holds the Cam Clutch, please note that if you press the key too hard, outer race of the Cam Clutch will become distorted and this may cause malfunction.
  • 7. When using for indexing, oil lubrication is recommended. Please use indexing oil.
  • 8. The concentricity of the shaft and clutch housing must be within 0.05 mm (TIR).
  • 9. If a thrust load is applied to the Cam Clutch, provide a separate device to bear the thrust load.
  • 10. When continuously idling at 700 r/min or more, be careful of heat generation. If the temperature of the clutch outer race exceeds 70°C, sufficient life cannot be expected. You will need to select a different series or change the operating conditions.
  • 11. For information on lubrication and maintenance, please see here.
