5. Lubrication

Be sure to lubricate the chain to ensure long-term use.

5.1 Lubricating method

Oiling the chain reduces wear on each part of the chain and reduces the power required.

Normally, oiling is done once a week by dripping or brushing on ISO VG100 to VG150 (SAE30 to 40) oil.

The lubricate points are shown in the diagram below.

To ensure effective lubrication, clean the chain before lubricating it.

5.2 Applications where lubrication is not desirable

  • - When the chain is buried in the transported object (loose object transport)
  • - When transporting powdery materials on pan conveyors, apron conveyors, etc. (When it is determined that powdery materials adhering to the chain will have an adverse effect when lubricated)
  • ・When the chain becomes hot
