• 1. We recommend that the shaft hole finish tolerance of sprockets, gears, pulleys, etc. be H6 or H7.
• 2. We recommend that the finish tolerance of the shaft on which the ML series is mounted be h6 or h7.
• 3. Use a JIS B1301-1996 (new JIS) parallel key (normal type) for the key installed between the ML series outer race and the sprocket, gear, pulley, etc., and for the key between the ML series inner race and the shaft on which the ML series is installed. Please note that outer race key dimensions do not conform to the relationship between shaft diameter and key specified in JIS. Never use a hammering key or similar to hit the top of the key.
• 4. When installing a pulley or similar, if the radial load acting on the ML series during idling exceeds the allowable radial load for idling of the ML series, install it so that the load is supported by a separate bearing at the part where the load is applied, as shown below.
• 5. We recommend using the ML-2GD series in cases where there is a lot of dust in the surrounding area, where oil that is not suitable for Cam Clutches is splashed, or where you want to prevent grease leakage. The ML-2GD series is equipped with a dust seal to prevent the intrusion of foreign matter. The maximum idling speed of the ML-2GD series is only about 80% of that of the ML series.
• 6. When mounting the ML series to a shaft, check the direction of rotation and mount gently, applying force only to the end face inner race.
• 7. If a thrust load is applied to the Cam Clutch, provide a separate device to bear the thrust load. Also, if a thrust load is applied to a helical gear or other device during use, it may cause a malfunction, so avoid using it.

・When not using bearings

Check the rotation direction of the Cam Clutch and install a retaining ring in the retaining ring groove on one side.

Use a parallel key to install transmission parts such as sprockets.

Install the retaining ring in the other retaining ring groove.

Attach parts such as bearings and V-pulleys to the shaft, and then attach the spacer.

Check the rotation direction of the cam clutch and install the housing to be attached to the pulley, etc., using a parallel key to outer race.

Attach the included retaining ring (for shaft) to outer race.

After mounting the ML series to the shaft, securely fasten it with parts such as a V-pulley and a bolt with strength classification 10.9 and a spring washer.

After checking the rotation direction of the Cam Clutch and installing it, secure it to the shaft with a retaining ring or end plate and bolts.

Install gently, applying force only to the end face inner race.
