Used for changing the direction of pallets, making it compact and enabling installation against a wall.
Zip Chain Actuator
overview
In the pallet repositioning and transfer processes, we replaced conventional air cylinders with Zip Chain Actuator. By taking advantage of the compact size of Zip Chain Actuator and positioning them along the side of the conveyor together with the drive motor, we minimized their protrusion outside the conveyor.
This allows the equipment to be installed close to the wall, enabling flexible layout construction even in limited spaces.
Problem
Traditionally, air cylinders were used to transfer pallets from a belt conveyor to a roller conveyor while changing their direction. However, the installation of the air cylinder required space equal to the stroke length, causing the mechanism to protrude significantly outside the conveyor. This resulted in dead space around the equipment, preventing it from being installed against a wall and limiting the flexibility of the factory layout.
Adopted products
Zip Chain Actuator
Unprecedented high-speed, high-frequency, low-profile, long-life actuator
Zip Chain Actuator is an actuator that performs linear motion by interlocking two chains like a zipper.
The compact body design achieves overwhelming space savings compared to conventional linear actuator.
It is compatible with high-speed and high-frequency operation and is capable of highly accurate multi-point stopping.
Compared to hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, it can significantly reduce the amount of power used, contributing to energy conservation.
Benefits of adopting the product
By adopting Zip Chain Actuator, the drive motor and main unit could be positioned along the conveyor, minimizing the protrusion of the mechanism outside the conveyor. As a result, dead space was eliminated, and installation against walls became possible. The overall compact size of the device increased layout flexibility, allowing for effective use of limited space.
