6. Roller chain test run
After installing the roller chain, perform a test run before starting actual operation and check the following items.
6.1 Before the test run
- 1. Ensure that fastening parts such as connecting link plate, spring clip, and split pins are installed correctly.
- 2. The roller chain has the appropriate slack.
- 3. The lubricate is adequate.
- 4. The roller chain is not interfering with any structures such as the chain case.
- 5. The roller chain operating path must be clean and free of obstacles.
6.2 Trial run
- 1. There should be no abnormal noise. The roller chain should not be interfering with any structures such as the chain case.
- 2. The roller chain is not vibrating.
- 3. The roller chain is not riding on the sprocket.
- 4. The roller chain is not caught in the sprocket.
- 5. The roller chain must bend smoothly.
If any abnormalities are found, refer to the inspection section and reinstall the roller chain and sprockets correctly.
