Installation precautions: F series

  • ・Use a pin to connect Power Cylinder to the other device. Match the pin phase (clevis fitting pin and End fitting pin).
  • - Apply grease to the clevis fitting hole, End fitting installation.
  • - When installing, make sure that no lateral load is applied to Power Cylinder.
  • All models have a fully enclosed structure that allows them to be used outdoors. However, even outdoor models require an appropriate cover in adverse environments where they are constantly exposed to water or steam, or in places where snow accumulates. Ambient temperatures vary depending on the conditions of use, but they can generally be used within the range of -5 to 40°C. If they are used above 40°C, be sure to protect them with an insulating cover or similar. Never use in a flammable atmosphere. Doing so may result in an explosion or fire. Also, avoid use in locations subject to vibrations or impacts exceeding 1G.
  • - The main body is designed for outdoor use, but end of the motor lead wires should be properly waterproofed using waterproof connectors, etc.

Precautions for use: F series

  • ・The speed and current value will change depending on the load. Please refer to the characteristics diagram for details. Also, due to the motor characteristics, linked operation is not possible.
  • ・If you are using rectified AC power instead of a battery, be sure to prepare a DC power supply that is smooth and has a capacity that does not cause voltage drop. This will have a significant effect on the performance of Power Cylinder and the life of the brushes.
  • - The voltage range for the DC12V specification is 10 to 14 V, and for the DC24V specification it is 20 to 28 V. Please note that due to the characteristics of DC motors, if the voltage fluctuates the speed will fluctuate.
  • ・The F series does not have a built-in overload detection mechanism. To detect overload, please use the optional overload detection unit. For LPF010 to 040, it is possible to stop the cylinder by hitting it when used in combination with an overload detection unit. (For LPF100 to 600, an overload detection unit can be manufactured as a special item, but it cannot stop the cylinder by hitting it.) If you want to stop the cylinder by hitting it, make sure the device has sufficient strength (300% or more of the rated thrust). If you are not using an overload detection unit, never stop the cylinder by hitting it, as this may damage Power Cylinder, and use the cylinder within its stroke range.
  • ・The stroke adjustment external LS (optional) cannot be installed on models with a stroke of 50 mm. The mechanical stroke adjustment range of the stroke adjustment external LS (optional) is 60 mm or more. However, please note that this does not include the coasting distance.
  • ・ Power Cylinder rod generates a rotational force along with the thrust, so it is necessary to prevent rotation. The rotational force of the rod is as shown in the table below.

  • - Adjust the limit switch position taking into account the amount of coasting of the cylinder.

  • ・If you want to reduce the amount of cylinder coasting, we recommend a circuit that applies a dynamic brake.
    Dynamic braking reduces coasting to approximately 1 mm (all models).
  • - In the case of a short stroke, the LS cam may overcome the microswitch, so please use it in a dynamic circuit.

Precautions for maintenance and inspection (F series)

  • - The operating and deceleration parts are delivered with grease applied, so there is no need to grease them up.
  • -The estimated lifespan is 15,000 strokes.
  • ・Due to its structural design, we do not offer repairs or parts. If the product exceeds the estimated lifespan, please replace the product with a new one.
