Maintenance and inspection
- 1. The screw shaft and reducer part are supplied pre-greased and sealed, so you can use them as is.
Please refer to Table 1 for the grease pre-packed at the time of shipment and recommended grease brands. - 2. Use Table 2 as a guide for the grease lubrication cycle for the screw shaft. Also, refer to Table 3 for the amount of grease to be applied to the screw shaft. To lubricate, move the screw shaft to its maximum stroke, wipe off the old grease, and then apply the grease directly to the screw shaft with a grease gun or brush. Grease for maintenance is also available, so please contact us for more information.
After greasing, make sure to perform a full stroke to promote lubrication inside the nut. - 3. Use Table 2 as a guide for the grease refill cycle for the reducer. The refill cycle will vary depending on the frequency of use, conditions of use, etc. A grease nipple and hexagon socket plug are attached to reducers of JW025 and above. When refilling grease, remove the hexagon socket plug and refill the grease until the grease poured into the grease nipple overflows from the hole in the removed hexagon socket plug. After refilling the grease, re-wrap sealing tape around the hexagon socket plug and tighten it securely to prevent grease from leaking.

For JWB (Ball screw type) and JWH (High lead ball screw type), grease the upper bearing every six months using the grease nipple on the gear case cover. This is not necessary for jacks below JWB/JWH010.
- 5. While using the jack, please periodically check the condition of the thread surface, backlash, etc. Please refer to the following for guidelines on lifespan and replacement.
- ・JWM...The guideline for replacement is when the axial backlash between the screw shaft and nut becomes 1/4 of the screw pitch.
- ・JWB・JWH・・・The product has reached the end of its life when metal powder due to wear can be seen on the thread surface.
- - Common to all types: When the backlash of the gear system (play between the input shaft and worm wheel) exceeds 30 degrees of rotation of the input shaft at H speed, or 60 degrees at L speed, the gear system must be replaced.
⚠In either case, continuing to use the product after the replacement period has passed may result in poor rotation of the screw shaft or input shaft, or even the screw shaft or traveling nut may suddenly fall off.
- 6. When adjusting the brake gap of a motor or Gear Motor with a brake, readjust it before the gap exceeds the limit. For details on how to adjust the brake and how to manually release it, refer to Instruction Manuals for the motor. (Gear Motor with a brake with a motor output of 25W and 40W are designed so that gap adjustment is not possible.)
