Mini Keeper MK Handling

Mounting on the shaft

  • 1. All Mini Keeper shaft hole diameters are pre-finished. We recommend that the shaft diameter tolerance be h7 or h8.
  • 2. To connect to the shaft, use the pin pocket (groove) on hub end face. Insert the pin into the shaft as shown in the diagram below and set it in the pin pocket. The gap should be about 0.5 mm.
Mounting on the shaft

Be sure to leave a gap between the end face and side of the pin and the pin pocket. Pin hole processing differs depending on the type of pin.

Mounting to the driven member

  • 1. Use the jaws on the flange to set with the driven member (gear, pulley, etc.). Cut a groove on the end face of the driven member and insert the jaws into it.
At this time, be sure to leave a gap of about 0.5 mm to prevent thrust and radial loads from acting on the flange end face, including the jaw.

Torque Settings

  • 1. All Mini Keeper are shipped at 0 point (min. torque).
At this time, the scale on the outer circumference of the adjustment nut should be as shown in the figure below.Torque Settings
  • 2. To set the torque, tighten the adjustment nut. See here for the torque curve.
Use the torque scale as a guide for setting the torque as shown in the diagram below.

Always check the actual machine to see if the set torque is appropriate.

  • 3. After setting the torque, prevent the adjustment nut from turning by placing the included anti-rotation spring clip between the adjustment nut and stop collar as shown in the diagram below.
Make sure that the protrusions on the anti-rotation spring clip are in the boss grooves (on both sides). The anti-rotation spring clip will stop the adjustment nut from rotating when it comes into contact with the stop button (protrusion) on the adjustment nut.Torque Settings

Note: 1. If water, oil, etc. adheres to the friction surface, torque abnormalities will occur and stable slip torque will not be obtained.

Note 2: Mini Keeper is designed for ambient temperatures of approximately 35°C or less. If this temperature is exceeded, please contact us.
