Nylon chain couplings

Standard and E-type chains (polyacetal resin) may be damaged if the joint pins are installed or removed in a low-temperature environment.

When installing or removing the joint pin, be sure to do so in an environment where the ambient temperature is 10°C or higher, or first warm up the joint part using a hair dryer or similar.

Installation

  • 1. Correct the angular deviation (Angular Misalignment) by fitting the sides of the sprocket together. Correct the angle so that the length T of the tooth sides is equal on the circumference.

    取付図
  • 2. Correct eccentricity (parallelism) by bringing the sides of the sprocket into close contact with each other. Place a straight object on the tooth surface to eliminate misalignment at tooth root.

    取付図
  • 3. Adjust the distance between both sprockets to dimension S and wrap the chain around it.

    取付図
  • 4. Insert the connecting pin into the hole in the chain, pushing it in straight to avoid applying an unbalanced load to the pin, and then connect the chain. If the pin becomes deformed when inserted, remove it and reinstall using a spare pin.
After connecting the chain, secure the sprocket to the shaft using a set bolt or similar.

[Usage Precautions]

In the unlikely event that the chain of our coupling is damaged, we recommend that you install a safety cover to prevent flying debris.

Removal

  • 1. First, make sure there is no torque applied to the coupling.
  • 2. After checking, remove any pin from the chain (any pin will do) and remove the chain and sprocket.
