Jaw-Flex Coupling L Series Selection

  • (1) When selecting, select Service factor from Table 1 based on the type of engine and operating conditions.
  • (2) Multiply the load torque (T) by Service factor (SF) in Table 1 to calculate the correction torque (T'), and select a model number so that the allowable torque of the coupling is equal to or greater than the correction torque (see the table below).
  • (3) Make sure that the required shaft hole diameter is equal to or less than the maximum shaft hole diameter of the selected model. If it exceeds this limit, select a model that matches it. (See the table below.)
  • (4) When using directly connected to a motor, refer to the selection tables in Tables 2 and 3.

How to calculate torque

T = 9550 × P n T = 974 × P n

  • T = Load torque N・m {kgf・m}
  • P = transmitted power kW
  • n = rotational speed r/min
  • T' = Corrected torque N・m {kgf・m}
